Our Story
Kid and Tech was founded out of a personal experience. We noticed children within our family, friends, and communities were showing signs of distress in their behaviour, communication, and emotional regulation due to increasing screen time and decreasing outdoor play. Realising that our children are growing up in a vastly different world compared to the 80s and 90s, we understood that parenting needed to adapt.
We recognized a pattern: overprotecting our kids in the real world while under protecting them in the virtual world.
Consulting with child psychologists and paediatricians, we began to organise the problem and find a solution—primarily for our own families. It soon became clear that a no-nonsense solution like the KAT Phone was crucial for addressing technology addiction among children.
We developed and tested the KAT Phone within our family and friends, creating a solution that genuinely works and sets our children on the right path. While there is still much to do, our mission to make technology safe for kids will help more parents course-correct and keep their children safe and healthy in this tech-driven world.
